Have you noticed all the yellow and green bikes around Scottsdale?
Scottsdale is taking the lead in the Valley of the Sun as the first city in the area to offer a bike share program for residents and visitors alike to enjoy at reasonable prices. These bikes are grouped in high traffic, bikeable areas with an emphasis around the Old Town area.
The three companies that are supplying bikes are LimeBike, Ojo and Grid Bike Share. They all work basically the same way. First you download the app, then set up an account with your credit card to get started. The GPS function on the app helps you find the bike nearest your location and then unlocks the bike after you scan its QR code and away you go!
The costs vary but are approximately $1/hour. You can leave the bike anywhere you'd like in the city and the company will collect it and re-position it for use by the next rider if necessary.
Go ahead and give them a try, and don't forget to wear a helmet!
I've never been a huge fan of donuts. For breakfast I've always been more of an eggs, bacon and toast type of guy. Last year while driving down Hayden Rd near Osborn, I noticed a new donut shop called The Local Donut. The next morning I stopped in for a couple of donuts and a cup of coffee. I'm now a regular at this hidden gem!
The owners, Daniel and Margarita, make all the donuts from scratch every morning and serve them with a smile and a great attitude that is sure to get your day off to a great start. They have tray after tray of delicious donuts and croissants to chose from in their small tidy shop.
You want a plain cake donut or a super fancy maple and bacon donut? They have them all at reasonable prices. Feeling like something savory instead of sweet? Try one of their breakfast croissants.
